Rooms vary in size and lay out, however most are medium sized, and some are even large and spacious. They are of a good standard and bright, with a sofa and plenty of table/desk space. Bathrooms are similarly bright, modern and functional. There is no restaurant serving lunch or dinner, only a small breakfast room, adjacent to the lobby on the ground floor. There are a number of good restaurants right next to the hotel. This is a pleasant modern building with a concrete and glass facade, with a welcoming entrance. The medium sized lobby has a number of small intimate seating areas, all decorated with modern, bright white furniture and cream tapestries. Public areas, conference and meeting rooms and corridors are functional rather than luxurious and make use of the same white modern furniture and walls. The bar also makes up part of the lobby. This is a popular, pleasant hotel, with a quiet location in a nice part of Buda. (AHJ 07.08)

Hotel Carlton was a great place to stay in Budapest. Very near the chain bridge and the funincular and stairs up to the castle, which is also one of the stops fr many hop on hop off tours; it is a very short walk to the river, with great views of the parliament building. We found it within walking distance of the Rudas and Gellert Baths too, and it looked like there was ample public transportation nearby.
There are tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, a small bar in the lobby with drinks and various coffees, and an extensive and delicious breakfast- eggs, sausages, meats, cheeses, fruits, yogurt, oatmeal, pastries, etc, as well as coffees, teas and juices, Great way to start the day. Many nearby cafes and restaurants too, not only just down the street, but just a quick ride up the funincular too.
Room was fairly spacious. Hotel decor was nice. Staff were all great and helpful, and everyone we spoke to spoke perfect English. There is a luggage storage room if you need to leave bags for a few hours.
Overall, great stay. Would recommend if staying in Budapest.
